Signs of Spring 2
Signs of Spring is part of my Storied Collection. The flowers measure 4 to 6 inches across and unfold from a beautiful luster olive charlotte to a pale pink. The design and execution was technically challenging and required over 3 months of work to complete. Not shown is a beautiful herringbone rope decorated with crystals to which the flowers are attached. This piece was made in honor of the work of Barbara Grainger. Photography: Susan Mandel

Journey
Bead Dreams 2008: 3rd Place, Seed Beads
Journey is part of my Storied Collection. The image is of a cat that becomes a butterfly, representing the passage of the soul from this world to the next. Forty seven cat faces woven entirely of beads and surface embellished were used to create this piece. It closes via a beaded toggle with individual cats aligning the clasp.
